Giving and Receiving Feedback 3

During our game of touch I demonstrated the interpersonal skill of Immediate 'Giving and Receiving Feedback'.  Immediate giving and receiving feedback is when you give feedback immediately to a player right after they have performed a skill well. An example of me using this skill was when I told my team mate that the meters being made up along the touch field was good or if a player in the team was to drop the ball I could give them feedback by saying "run with your hands open like a target ready to catch.". The effect this had on the team was that the player who was given immediate feedback kept doing what they were doing and loads of meters were being made, which made it easier for the fast people to scoop the ball and run over the try line. I could improve this skill by applying myself more into the game and making meters as well.

Fair Play 3

During our game of touch I demonstrated the interpersonal skill Fair Play. In this case of fair play I acknowledged the teams effort. I acknowledged them by saying good things to support them such as, NICE, good play or GO GO GO GONE as in getting a run away to score a try! An example of me doing this was when a player in my team found a gap and ran through all the way to the try, this is where my statement comes in, I screamed "GO GO GO GONE!!!!!" The effect this had on the team was that they tried harder and made better decisions on the play as they like to be complimented on what they do which made them feel good about themselves. I could improve this next time by acknowledging the opposition as well as my own team.

Effective Communication 3

In our game of touch I demonstrated the interpersonal skill 'Effective Communication' verbally. Verbal effective communication is when you use language everyone understands. For example: Me.... as the trainer I explain to them what needs to be done as an exercise to warm us up as a team. Explaining the activity using speech-related gestures helps make the warm up easier to understand what it helps them achieve, which would be..... to help keep them fit and ready for the game. In the short amount of time given for warm up we get runs and stretches out of the way first, we then work on skills and techniques till we were called in and told the game plan. The effect this had on the team was that it helped them get physical and active before the upcoming game was played. I could improve this by using better speech-related gestures and use better language towards the other so they don't feel intimidated by the way I talk to them.

Giving and Receiving Feedback 2

During our game of touch today I demonstrated  the interpersonal skill 'Giving and Receiving Feedback'. Giving and Receiving Feedback is when you have positive and constructive feedback to give the other person so that they feel motivated and supported in whats being said in order to improve. An example of me using this interpersonal skill was when I told my team player that she could improve her meters gained when she has the ball, as she has the speed to run faster than others. The affect this would have on the team is that people will then try keep up with her, which will make the game faster and more physical. I could improve this by changing the tone in my voice.

Fair play 2

Today during our game of touch against the 'Cockroachs' the interpersonal skill I demonstrated was fair play. The way I demonstrated fair play was by keeping my dignity whether winning or losing, I demonstrated this by congratulating the opposition every time they scored, I didn't mock them when our team scored and we were shaking hands after the game. The effect this had on the game was that there was no hard feelings/tension between both teams and we just got on with the game. I could improve this interpersonal skill by congratulating my team more often when they score or perform a good play to let them know they have my full support.

Effective Communication 2

The Interpersonal skill I demonstrated during our game of touch was Effective Communication. Effective Communication is when you have good active listening skills. You can show this by having good levels of interest and making the speaker feel that you have valued their words. The effect this had on the team was that it made the speaker in our team feel more welcomed and not ignored it made the person feel as if they were valued in our team and not just a player to make the numbers in the team. I could improve this interpersonal skill by eliminating distractions around me when others are speaking, such as turning my back to those who are training in the background and focus more on what the speaker is saying.

Giving and Receiving Feedback

The new interpersonal skill I demonstrated was 'Giving and Receiving Feedback'. Giving and Receiving Feedback is when you give someone feedback on what they have to improve of fix during the game of touch. An example of me using the interpersonal skill 'Giving and Receiving Feedback' was when I gave my team players feedback om wht they could improve within the touch game next time. The effect this had on the team was that it helped them build self confidence and encouraged them to work twice as hard. I could improve this interpersonal skill next time with my feedback by not saying what the other person wants to hear but what they need to hear so they can improve and work harder towards achieving it.
